The final results of the Rocket Competitions organised within the scope of the Aviation, Space and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST) 2020 under the leadership of TÜBİTAK were announced. Pamukkale University Hazar Rocket Team, sponsored by Pamukkale University and Pamukkale Technopolis and supported by Hunters of Book, ABN Tekstil and Safir Reklam companies, became the winner of both categories by receiving the highest scores in the Medium and High Altitude Rocket categories.
Turkey's largest technology festival, which set out with the slogan #MilliTeknolojiHamlesi and whose finals will be held in Gaziantep this year, under the leadership of the Technology Team Foundation of Turkey and the Ministry of Industry and Technology; Aviation, Space and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST) 2020 continues with the fierce struggle of teams developing technology in different categories. The final results of the Rocket Competitions organised within the scope of the Aviation, Space and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST) 2020, led by TÜBİTAK, were announced. The teams that ranked in three different categories, Low Altitude, Medium Altitude and High Altitude Rocket, were determined according to the points they received.
Pamukkale University Hazar Rocket Team, which won the first place in Turkey in the High Altitude category of Rocket Competitions at TEKNOFEST 2019 held in Istanbul last year; Pamukkale University Hazar Rocket Team, consisting entirely of students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of PAU Faculty of Engineering, this year in the competitions held at Aksaray Hisar Roketsan Shooting Facilities; 3 Thousand Metres Medium Altitude and 6 Thousand Metres High Altitude Categories both won the first place in Turkey.
The rocket of Pamukkale University Hazar Team successfully fulfilled the tasks given at the targeted heights and landed smoothly. In the evaluation made over a thousand points, Pamukkale University Hazar Rocket Team, advised by Prof. Dr. Numan Behlül Bektaş, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, PAU, and Assoc. Assist. Uğur Yiğit, Mustafa Zabun, Sena Seher Öğün, Ece Cengiz, Ezgi Meriç, Batuhan Çabuk and Talha Sorkun; came first in the 3 Thousand Metres Medium Altitude Category with 707.10 points. The team was supervised by Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran, Faculty Member of PAU Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Director of Materials Research and Application Centre. Assist. Mehmet Serhat Duras, Egemen Mert, Mertcan Uysaler and Cem Topuk, who were coached by Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Director of Materials Research and Application Centre, came first in the 6 Thousand Metres High Altitude Category with 873.51 points. The Caspian Team, which successfully completed their launches in both categories this year, broadcasted their launches live over the internet with the camera on their rockets.
Pamukkale University Caspian Team won the Best Design Award in the High Altitude Category in the Best Team and Most Original Design Awards given exclusively to TEKNOFEST Rocket Competition this year.

TEKNOFEST 2020, where thousands of young people and teams compete in technology fields of critical importance for Turkey, aims to transform our country into a technology-producing society and to encourage well-educated young people; It will end with the final competitions and award ceremonies to be held at Gaziantep Airport between 22-27 September 2020.
